Etnia Barcelona marks the end of summer with a unique premium collection: CHROMA

Etnia Barcelona loves to surprise, and its new collection is no exception. CHROMA is a sophisticated, exuberant range that has fun with shapes, volumes and, of course, colours. Here’s our rundown on this stunning new collection of 14 frames.

Etnia Barcelona is the eyewear brand that loves contrasts and isn’t afraid to be different. With it, we have all become globetrotters, visiting Japan, the Mediterranean, Africa, with Morocco deserving a special mention. The king of surprising collaborations, the brand has joined forces with the likes of FC Barcelona, with which it designed the Anatomy series. More recently, it released its first children’s range, Cartoon Collection. Fans of this inspired brand know that it religiously releases new styles that everyone wants to get their hands on. Cue Chroma, a premium an innovative collection, flaunting an explosion of vibrant colours and bold curves. Everyone will be talking about it this September.

Premium frames

With these 14 unisex round and cat-eye frames, the Catalan brand continues to push boundaries in the eyewear world. The glasses showcase a variety of colours with neutral combos such as grey/black or brown with tan tortoiseshell, and vivid ensembles with candy pink, plum, aqua and a rainbow of blues. As always, acetate takes centre stage, adopting plain, milky and transparent finishes, while the distinctive raw details enhance the uniqueness of each pair. The logo is even engraved in a different colour on the inside of the temples. These subtle features make all of the frames in the Chroma collection exceptional.

Experimenting with colour

Colour and a connection with art are Etnia Barcelona’s signatures. Each new product launch surprises with its myriad of references to the world around us and thanks to its collaborations with renowned photographers, its campaigns are always flawless. For the Chroma campaign, it chose Malaysian artist Zhong Lin, known for her unique ability to recreate universes that blur the boundaries between the real and the abstract. Her images immerse us in beautiful colours, triggering an emotional rollercoaster. Each backdrop for the shoot was represented by a colour, with red, orange, blue and pink. An entire universe is built around these colours, with contrasting tones, shapes and textures, mirroring each of the frames. This is the brand’s way of showing us that colour can be transformative, improving and even defining our perception of the environment that surrounds us. Design and poetry will always be part of Etnia Barcelona’s identity.
