The most stunning glasses from Paris’ Haute Couture Fashion Week
From 3 to 6 July, Haute Couture invaded Paris for the Autumn/Winter 2023-24 shows. Celebs, influencers and fashionistas took the capital by storm, flaunting avant-garde looks and gorgeous glasses as they basked in the Parisian sunshine. EYESEEmag was there to make sure you don’t miss out on the show-stopping styles from the four fashion-packed days.
SCHIAPARELLI
Schiaparelli kicked off the festivities at Petit Palais, and definitely didn’t skimp on flamboyance. Extraordinary pieces inspired by famous artists and surrealist looks attracted one of fashion week’s most ambitious guest lists. Personalities like American model and socialite Jaime Xie wowed with the unforgettable gold metal glasses from Schiaparelli’s ready-to-wear collection. They may not be easy to wear but they definitely make a statement!
CHANEL
Chanel took its show outdoors to the banks of the Seine. Signature Chanel details like sparkly tweed, camellias and beads were vamped up and made an appearance both on and off the catwalk. Guests adopted the same uniform, combining timeless sophistication with the latest glasses, mirroring model and artistic director Leia Sfez, the archetypal Parisian. Brazilian influencers Helena Bordon and Camila Coeho, German social media star Melanie Kieback and fashion designer Maria de la Orden weren’t to be outdone, showcasing shimmering tweeds and understated sunglasses.
ALEXIS MABILLE
Alexis Mabille put on his show “Mondaines” (social butterflies) at the Christie’s salons on avenue de Matignon. The models partied their way down the runway with a glass of champagne in hand, while the guests dazzled in glamorous gowns and show-stopping eyewear. All eyes were on stylist Salomé Chaboki and influencers Isabela Simpoes, Sasha Ray, Maria Rosaria Rizzo and Leila Depina whose extravagant frames show they perfectly understood the show’s message.
STÉPHANE ROLLAND
Planned as a tribute to Maria Callas, the Stephane Rolland show at Palais Garnier kept its promises. Unfortunately, the grey skies and showers got the better of the sunglasses donned by guests, but a few were happy to be divas just for us. Fashion influencers Leonie Hanne and Elina Janibekyan braved the weather in black shades which perfectly complemented their evening dresses. As for the men, French presenter Magloire and Swedish social media king Fredrik Robertsson opted for ultra-on-trend oversized styles.
ALEXANDRE VAUTHIER
The Vauthier show at Palais de Tokyo was dripping in glamour, starting with the guests who lined the catwalk in a uniform of black glasses and sexy outfits. Among them was singer Camila Cabello, who rocked Vauthier from head to toe, even opting for a pair of their sunglasses. Yes, remember, Vauthier joined forces with Alain Mikli to create an eyewear collection.
Apart from legendary journalist Anna dello Russo and her mirror glasses, it was really the male guests that stole the show. Basketball star Serge Ibaka, joined by top model girlfriend Cindy Bruna, opted for the must-have raptor shades by Bottega Veneta.
The stylish young fashionistas also deserve a mention for their efforts!
BALENCIAGA
In the salons on avenue George V, Balenciaga put on a futuristic, quirky, emotion-filled show, charming the hand-picked guests, die-hard fans of the brand. The brand’s latest futuristic and oversized frames were out in force, rapper Offset opting for the Skin Cat shades, while Chinese actress Song Jia finished her look with the Monaco Cat frames.
JEAN PAUL GAULTIER
At the legendary location on rue Saint-Martin, anyone who’s anyone in Paris was in attendance to discover Julien Dossena’s latest take on JPG style. While Laëtitia Casta took the runway by storm, stars drew crowds on the street. Onlookers enjoyed the show put on by power couple Cardi B and Offset, who swapped his Skin Cats for the Chrome Hearts shades. We spotted the 56-0174 frames on actor Aron Piper and 56-6101, a favourite with hip-hop stars brought back by Karim Benzema, worn by Natasha Lyonne.
FENDI
Fendi brought fashion week to a close at Palais Brogniart with a stunning, ultra-feminine collection. On Place de la Bourse, guests adopted the same luxurious, elegant style. Superstar Shakira, actresses Suki Waterhouse and Eiza Gonzalez and two prominent influencers Leonie Hanne and Caroline Daur all donned black glasses for the occasion.
