Ferragamo unveils its new Tritan Renew glasses

For Spring/Summer 2023, Ferragamo has released a collection of glasses and sunglasses equipped with Eastman Tritan™ Renew lenses and frames. They are made from 50% recycled polyester* from plastic waste, reflecting the Florentine brand’s long-standing mindfulness when it comes to environmental issues.

This eyewear collection offers a chic new take on Ferragamo’s unique icon, with oversized styles featuring the personalised Gancini 3D print on the outside of the temples and a metal plaque with the brand logo on the inside. The sunglasses have gone square with gradated lenses, while glasses couldn’t seem to choose so we get to instead, between round and square. All of the frames come in a range of timeless colours that elevate their elegance.

*Recycled content determined using the mass balance approach. As recycled and virgin raw materials are mixed together during the manufacturing process, physical separation of recycled content is impractical in case of chemical recycling. The mass balance approach guarantees the traceability of recycled content in the supply chain, while conventionally assuming that the recycled content in the finished product must be equal to the original recycled volume. Certification issued by the ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification), an independent multi-stakeholder certification body, in accordance with the ISCC Plus protocol. The main criteria of the ISCC environmental sustainability programme are based on Directive (EU) 2018/2001 (recast) (RED II), while the ISCC Plus protocol applies to all markets and sectors not regulated by RED II and, therefore, includes additional requirements.
