It already promises to be eventful, especially for glasses fans. An international event

People travel from all over the globe to visit MIDO. “In 2024, more than 1,200 exhibitors were present and almost 40,000 visitors attended from around 160 countries in Asia, America and Europe”, enthusiastically explained show representatives. “More than 400 journalists were granted media accreditation, subsequently publishing 600 articles, and we enjoyed great exposure on social media.” These figures are impressive and next year’s edition promises to be even more innovative and surprising.

Focus on the future

More than anything, MIDO and its organisers strive to be avant-garde. This means constantly evolving and seeking out new solutions and tools in order to guarantee optimal organisation and a new-and-improved visitor experience. The 2025 edition will be synonymous with change, with a partial reorganisation of the exhibition halls to ensure better use of the stands. It will also be the year that training is placed in the spotlight. Numerous workshops, meetings, symposiums, seminars and conferences will be held at the OTTICLUB, focussing on a variety of topics such as digitization, assets to boost competitiveness, wellness, diversity, inclusion, sustainability and promoting eyewear made in Italy. These are all important issues which the MIDO team is duty-bound to tackle. That is why, over the past few years, it has been encouraging and celebrating sustainable brands with its award ceremony dedicated to ethics. “We have introduced a number of awards, including Certified Sustainable Eyewear (CSE) and Stand Up For Green, which celebrates the most sustainable stand. With these rewards, we want to encourage people in the industry to improve environmental and social sustainability. Anyone who wishes to apply for the CSE award will need to optimise and document their actions to protect the environment, and all MIDO exhibitors are encouraged to use more attractive, eco-friendly stands”, explained a MIDO team member shortly before the start of MIDO 2024.
