Best Glasses in the Fall/Winter Campaigns: Part 1
The Fall/Winter campaigns are out and the edgy glasses on billboards, magazine pages and computer screens have us wide-eyed. We recap the strongest eyewear styles around this season.
Alexander McQueen
Kate Moss makes a big comeback this winter, starring in this Alexander McQueen campaign in oversized, Twin Peaks Log Lady-esque frames.
Vera Wang
Model Marjan Jonkman faces the Vera Wang Fall/Winter 2020 campaign, shot by photographic duo Inez and Vinoodh. And her revisited aviators certainly hit the mark.
Celine
For Fall/Winter 2010, Celine Artistic Director Hedi Slimane shot models Lara Mullen and Karo Laczkowska. The resulting pictures blend an upper class feel with rocker verve, via some pretty bold sunglasses.
Diesel
The new Diesel campaign features young models – including Frenchie of the moment Luka Isaac – in a club setting. Their delicate glasses and bold sunnies with yellow and purple bridges lead an eye-catching look.
Dolce & Gabbana
Dolce & Gabbana’s winter ads are never not oozing Italian glamour. House ambassador Chiara Scelsi wears a super feminine, nylon fiber cat-eye, with luxury details inspired by the house’s Sicily bag. We also love the acetate and metal rectangular styles for men.
Dior
This season, Dior Men’s is paying tribute to US artist Raymond Pettibon in a campaign lensed by heavyweight photographer Steven Meisel. Created by the house’s artistic director, Kim Jones, the collection includes a pair of futuristic punk rocker sunglasses.
Etudes Studio
The on-trend Paris collective has brought out its first collection of sunglasses and they are just as edgy as the Keith Haring and Taxi Girl-inspired group of designers themselves.
Balenciaga
This season’s Balenciaga campaign features real couples photographed by Greg Finck in the streets of Paris. Their elegant sunglasses even stay on for a kiss.
